Version 0.1 Notes
First version of Teléfono! This release sets the basic groove of the font: A lovely handwritten and flowy texture, but monoline and with just enough restraint to be super versatile.
The character set is small for now: Uppercase, lowercase, numerals, very basic punctuation, plus acutes and tilde, for Spanish speakers.
In the next couple of versions we'll be adding extra loopy alternate glyphs for the maximalists, as well as plain versions for the keep-it-simple crowd.
Then:
- Wider latin-based language support
- Kerning and fine tuning … And perhaps a bolder weight, or dotted version, we'll see.
Family Styles
A single light weight.
Character Set
Uppercase, lowercase, figures,(very) basic punctuation
Plus acutes and tilde for Spanish support.
Drawing Quality
Good, but will improve as we figure out the details in the alternates system.
Spacing
Pretty good.
Uppercase/lowercase combinations are still very beta though.
Kerning
There's no kern table yet, but there's a set of spacing alternates that sorta kinda act like kerning. It's still beta, so fine spacing will improve in later versions.
Hinting
Not hinted.
OpenType Features
Only basic substitutions to improve spacing and add initial shapes.
